The birth of BioClin
During the 1980s Annelize Goedbloed, a medical biologist with a passion for nature and an open mind, was involved in clinical research looking into the properties of polysaccharides derived from the Aloe Barbadensis Miller plant. Floris, her entrepreneurial son, had made useful connections and introductions to set up the research and was equally passionate about exploring the possibilities. His experiences, instinct and energy fueled their enthusiasm. The exciting discovery of a specific mode of action sparked a new idea: selfcare products that correct and restore the balance of microbes in the human body rather than destroy them. Floris immediately saw the potential and from this breakthrough idea they founded BioClin in 1989.
Discovery and development of 2QR-complex
Floris Koumans and his mother Annelize Goedbloed had long recognized the negative effects resulting from overuse of antibiotics. When Annelize, a medical biologist, joined forces with the department of the Free University of Amsterdam in 1993, five years of extensive research led to the final breakthrough: The discovery of the unique mode of action of 2QR-complex. Floris and Annelize established BioClin and successfully gained worldwide patents for the innovation. Since then BioClin has developed a range of bio-active selfcare products that help people all over the world with common health problems and discomforts related to microbial disturbance.
